DES Overview

Designer Education Series
The Designer Education Series first began in 2005 when BSI desired a brand new approach to providing solid educational programming to the design community. The Designer Education Series, now registered with both AIA and ASLA, began as a full-day continuing education program for designers that provided insight into the entire process of specifying stone on a project. From quarrying the stone, to fabrication, to transportation and installation, through the care and maintenance of various stones, attendees have enjoyed up to six hours of stone training, equating to 6 Learning Units of continuing education. Future full-day events and their locations will be announced on an ongoing basis, and can be found on our website under Calendar of Events/Designer Education.

The increasing demand for continuing education credits has resulted in individual member companies creating unique educational presentations in one-hour increments that are typically presented in design firm offices. Typically 1 Learning Unit of continuing education is earned for participation. A list by state of the various education topics and their instructor company are available on the Course List page.
